I'm sitting in Kimmel Center, waiting for a 1:30pm vaccination appointment at the Health Center. The OT Department strongly advises taking the 3 dose Hepatitis B vaccine before Fieldwork. You can waive, but--as I just said--it's strongly advised. I've been out of class since 10:45am. The Health Center is packed with walk-ins for MMR and have no room for little ole me before my appointment time. I bought bags at the book store, a sandwich at Space Market, ate the sandwich, and have 1 1/2 hours left before I get shot and can go home.
I'm kind of bored. The books I need to study for next week's exam and Activity Analysis paper are sitting on my dresser. Too heavy to carry those monster manuals for a 1 hour 45 minute public transportation commute. I will admit that I'm happy Mayor Bloomberg's congestion pricing proposal didn't go through. I do want to help the environment, but I would like to be able to travel about my own city. Bloomberg, if you want us to stop driving cars, improve public transportation EVERYWHERE IN NEW YORK CITY (all boroughs). I'm proud to say I use public transportation when entering the city (aka Manhattan). Everywhere else, I drive. I refuse to go to Staten Island anymore because the Verrazano Bridge toll is outrageously $10. I love this city, but I have this city.
